Away from the city

Shags Countryhome sits in Ijebu, well outside Lagos. That distance changes how you specify a kitchen. Nothing can be fixed with a quick trip back; a missing bracket is a day lost, not an hour.

So the kitchen was designed to be delivered complete. Every element made and finished in our workshop, dry-assembled before it left, and shipped as a set rather than as parts to be worked out on site.

Coordination at a distance

As at Casa Gardens, a general contractor was running the wider build, so our sequence had to fit theirs. Services set out from our drawings before the walls closed, dimensions confirmed on site rather than assumed, and the installation window agreed in advance so our team travelled once.

A working kitchen

The layout is planned for real cooking rather than for photographs: a long uninterrupted preparation run, the hob and sink close enough to work between without crossing the room, and generous storage at the ends.

Timber and stone, kept warm rather than clinical. A country kitchen gets used hard, and it should look better for it rather than worse.
